... Experience the Industrial Heritage Trail.
Savour our warm welcome with a refreshing sparkling apple drink and, after a night's rest, enjoy a substantial, healthy breakfast buffet. Now it's straight onto the saddle and off into the countryside. On tour, industrial monuments and parklands offer some inviting breaks.

Take part in a guided tour of the grounds of the Zeche Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage site. Your tour leads you through above-ground facilities of the coal mine that used to be the greatest and most up-to-date of its time. Even today, it remains the most attractive coal mine in Europe.

The tour continues „From Doppelbock to Köttelbecke“
The guided bike tour starts off at Zeche Zollverein bike station. You will cycle along bicycle routes spanning the grounds of the Zeche Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage site, passing the famous Doppelbock shaft tower, along the grounds of the old coking plant, through former miners' housing estates, over redeveloped pits, and on through parks and public gardens.

The tour is approx. 16 kilometres. As several breaks will be taken, the trip is also suitable for less experienced cyclists. The tour will be sprinkled with anecdotes and stories from the times when the chimneys were still smoking as well as current news from Zollverein industrial cultural landscape.

To round off the day, our local chef will have a tasty supper ready for you.
