The Attractive Ruhr Region
Bird's-Eye-View of the Metropolis
You want to fly to new heights? No problem – the Ruhr region offers many opportunities for climbing to the stars. From the Tetrahedron in Bottrop, the Florianturm or the Tiger & Turtle installation you can enjoy fantastic views of the Ruhr Metropolis, landscapes and rivers. And some of what you see is worth a closer look.
The district's trademark
When you visit the coal district, you expect to find testimonies to the industrial past. As our guest in the Petul Apart Hotels you don't have to look long: The Hotel An der Zeche, for example, lives up to its name and is close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein Coal Mine – one of the most beautiful mines in the world.

Amazingly historic...
Even if the Ruhr region represents the industialisation like no other region...earlier eras also left their architectural marks. Such as the Stiepeler Village Church with paintings that date back to the 12th century, the Cathedral in Essen with its splendid cathedral treasury and the abundant castles, which invite you to stroll through beautiful landscaped parks.
Also worth a saunter: the old town in Hattingen with its medieval half-timbered houses or the harbour in Duisburg – one of the largest inland ports in the world.
